Creating Toys

Over Term 2 Tumeke 12 learnt all about the Design Process through exploring toys. We had been finding out lots about Haiti and what it was like there for kids.
So we used that as the 'problem' for our design process and we made toys for the kids of Haiti that they could make easily from bits of rubbish and things around the house.

In this video you can see some of the things we used to make our toys with. We collected all these things from our house and saved them from the rubbish bins! After this you will then see our finished toys. They are pretty amazing!

WOW Tumeke 12 what wonderful toys you have made with recycled materials. There has been lots of creative thinking happening in your class. Looking forward to seeing what you will be getting up to in Term 3.

Hi Tumeke 12,

Cool toys! We can't believe you made them out of rubbish!
We liked the ones that look like space ships. They look awesome!
Great work.
We really liked the toy that was in a star shape made out of straws.
Our teacher told us she was in your class yesterday and you were eating pavlova. That sounds yummy!
