Telescopic Text #1
This week we used telescopic text to add ideas, describing words and edit our writing. Unfortunately we couldn't save our work but we took screen shots to show our first and final holiday writing examples. We are really proud of the work that we did!

Hollies Trophies
In Term 1 Hollie brought some trophies and medals to Tumeke 12 that she had won.

Haiti Donations
Haiti is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world.
On January the 12th, 2010 a massive earthquake struck Haiti, making most of it's capital rubble. Over 250,000 people have been killed and 200,000 lost their homes.
In class we have been discussing about what happened and we also looked at some photos of all the rubble. We have been making pictures to give to the children in Haiti
and that made us think...That we could also give other items to Haiti.
So then we decided that we would like everyone to help.
So we are going to do a project in which we will be donating
toys, clothes, soap, toothpaste, and letters to Haiti in packs for them.
So if you have any of these items bring them to us in Room 12 any morning in Week 1 & 2 to help us out. Also keep an eye out on Karekare pod to see some other fantastic fundraising ideas that will support the people of Haiti.
** A note from Miss S: This is part of Home Learning challenges for Karekare students and they are undertaking this challenge as part of the 'giving' category.
